This source is a tertiary source because it is an encyclopedia about high levels of understanding of the worlds music and how it came to be overtime and how American music is viewed now days for it. This is a good source because it gave us a lot of notes and high levels of information about the Worlds music.
All of our lives, we have grown up around music, wrote our own songs, or even played an instrument. We both had a music topic so we grouped together. When we searched up breaking barriers in history for music we found out that a lot of racial barriers were broken, narrowed that down and found Berry Gordy. We chose our topic because it is our interest, and related to the NHD theme.
Before Berry Gordy became our interest we searched up all kinds of music artists that broke barriers in history. A lot of African-American music artists came up in our research. Every single one had a story but nothing big and unique. Later on we came upon Berry Gordy and how he broke the racial music barrier and sold Martin Luther King Jr's albumns. Berry Gordy's background story to catch our attention and got us intrigued and ready to research. Berry Gordy had a lot happened so we decided to see what he was about, we looked more into him only to get more interested in him. Berry Gordy was then chosen to be our topic. Both of us wanted to get on common grounds with the basics of Berry Gordy. Basic information came up on a lot of encyclopedias and bibliographies. From there we worked outward to find information about Berry Gordy breaking racial or potential music barriers in history. We were amazed about our topic. Checking for credible sources was tough but worth it to see if our information was correct. Also, we went threw schools IMC tabs to find more credible sources. Also, we called a few people and sent out emails. We called the Motown Museum and we couldn't get information unless we went to the museum itself. We called them again and they told us to check out there website and it gave us some credible sources, it helps with are progress moving forward in are research. Our research was from common websites and articles from people's point of views.
A website consists of a related network web resources, multimedia content, which are typically identified with a common domain name, and published on at least one web server. We chose to use this as our presentation category because it is more organized and well formed were we can access it anywhere we are. A group website ain’t common so we decided to pick it. Also, we have chosen are topic because he was someone who broke a lot of barriers and no one really knows about it.
Our project relates to the National History Day theme because Berry Gordy broke racial barriers by involving himself with Martin Luther King Jr and sold top hits in the United States. Berry Gordy wrote a lot of songs and broke barriers by showing off the African-American talent. With this talent also came the Civil-Rights movement when Berry Gordy was involved in The March of Freedom copies that he sold.
